Hello Shopify

my name is Karmela Arocena

and I want to intern for you this summer

I’m an Interactive Multimedia & Design student at Carleton University. Over the years I've been experimenting with layout, print, and web design. Now I want to fine-tune all the skills I’ve acquired to become a better web/UI designer. I want to learn from the best, and Shopify creates some of the best designed applications for the web. Being the eCommerce solution of choice for start-ups, as well as being the choice for major brands like General Electric, is proof of that. I’m eager to join such a talented group of individuals who are committed to creating user-friendly web applications. Shopify has such a diverse user-base, so I know joining your team will allow me to learn plenty about web/UI design for different types of users.

things i know

My experiences overlap both design and development. While focussing on UI design is my goal, I know that understanding both sides of a project can help bridge the gap between the designer and the developer. I know it’s more than just design or just code. They have to work together. I want to see how Shopify is able to seamlessly combine the two.
